How much time would it take to synchronize my Android phone with Microsoft Outlook?

With the introduction of History Management from v2.0 onwards, first sync will take some time to create the history. But second sync cycle onwards it will take just few seconds or minutes to sync.

Synchronization time depends on the number of contacts, calendar events on both the phone and MS Outlook. Sync time may vary from 30 seconds to 20 minutes depending on the number of items being synced. 

It also depends on your Android device's processor in addition to the amount of data being sync'ed. 

How to sync Contacts, Calendars and Tasks via Bluetooth?

To sync your Android device and Outlook using Bluetooth, please make sure that the SyncRoid PC Client is set to Bluetooth Mode. 

Go to Options > Enable Syncing With Bluetooth > Click APPLY

Why is SyncRoid phone application not detecting my computer?

One of the following can be the reason:

  1. Bluetooth is not activated or working on your computer.

  2. SyncRoid PC Client is not installed on your computer. Please install from here.

  3. Computer is not set to 'discoverable'. Please visit our User Guide for step by step instructions.

  4. 'Microsoft Bluetooth Stack' is not in use. Details can be found in the next FAQ below. 

How do I install Microsoft Bluetooth Stack?

Follow these steps to uninstall the existing Bluetooth Stack like Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and install Microsoft Bluetooth Stack:

  1. Uninstall your existing Bluetooth stack i.e. driver software that came with the Bluetooth adapter from Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Bluetooth drivers software from the list of Programs (For example look for installed program: Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba, WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software, etc)

  2. Download the Bluetooth Driver Installer based on your computer:

    > For 32-bit (x86) Windows version download BluetoothDriverInstaller.exe

    > For 64-bit (x64) Windows version BluetoothDriverInstaller_x64.exe

  3. Reboot your computer and click 'Cancel' when asked for the Bluetooth driver on restart.

  4. Run BluetoothDriverInstaller.exe that you downloaded and follow instructions of the wizard.

  5. You might be asked to restart your computer and you are done with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack installation. 

Why do I get Bluetooth Device Check even when my Bluetooth is working perfectly fine to send and receive files?

Though your Bluetooth device might be working fine to transfer files and data over the Bluetooth you might get the following error when the SyncRoid PC Client runs.


The reason is SyncRoid PC Client uses Microsoft Bluetooth Stack which might not be installed in your computer. You need to uninstall the current Bluetooth Stack and install Microsoft Bluetooth Stack. This can be done in few easy steps detailed in the above FAQ "How do I install Microsoft Bluetooth Stack?". 

Calendar sync seems to get stuck, what to look for?

Please look for Outlook dialogue box (shown below) that pops up on your computer asking for the permission to access Outlook calendars. Allow access and the sync will continue smoothly.

SyncRoid Calendar data lost on device reboot. What to do?

Download and install SyncRoid Jelly Bean Workaround free application from Play Store. Requires SyncRoid Full version to be already installed.

This workaround is presented to cater known Android Issue 34880, which has already been reported to Google by the developer community.

How to sync calendar events, appointments and tasks with the same name or subject but different days?

This is achieved by using the new optional feature 'Delete Unmatched Items' as shown in the screenshot below. 

Just select the 'Delete Unmatched Items' option from Settings (Menu > More > Settings) and synchronize.

TIP: Use the start sync date option to reduce the sync time; for calendars 'Calendar Sync Start Date' and for tasks 'Task Sync Start Date'

Does SyncRoid synchronize contacts Categories and Groups?

No, currently SyncRoid is not designed to sync contacts Categories or Groups. In future releases we plan to include these options. 


Why are contacts photos not synchronized? Is it a bug?

No, it is not a bug. Currently, SyncRoid is not designed to sync contacts photos. In future releases we plan to include this feature. 



I closed SyncRoid PC Client by mistake while it was in the middle of sync process. What to do now?

Though it is recommended not to close the PC Client during the sync process, but if that happens you do not need to worry. You will get a 'Sync Interrupted' message on the phone side and the sync process will stop automatically. You can start the synchronization process again and continue. 


Can I move my contacts from my Nokia, Sony Ericsson or any other phone to my Android phone using this SyncRoid solution?

Yes, you can. Simply follow the following steps:

  • On your PC, install sync software or suite provided by your previous phone manufacturer. For example, In case of Nokia use Nokia PC Suite, for Sony Ericsson use Sony Ericsson PC Companion and so on.

  • Sync your old phone’s contacts with Microsoft Outlook.

  • Once done, you will have all your old phone contacts appearing in MS Outlook contact list.

  • Now use SyncRoid PC Client and SyncRoid phone app to sync all your contacts in Outlook with your Android phone.

Norton Antivirus does not allow me to install SyncRoid PC Client and mark it as WS.Reputation.1. How to get SyncRoid PC Client installed?

WS.Reputation.1 is a detection for files that have a low reputation score based on analyzing data from Symantec’s community of users and therefore are likely to be security risks. Detections of this type are based on Symantec’s reputation-based security technology. Because this detection is based on a reputation score, it does not represent a specific class of threat like adware or spyware, but instead applies to all threat categories.

Following steps will help you restore the downloaded SyncRoid PC Client and install:

  1. If you have Norton security products installed on your system you may see a notification like the one in the screenshot below. It basically notifies you that the file has been classified as WS.Reputation.1 by Norton and that it has been removed as a consequence.

  2. To get back the quarantined SyncRoid PC Client installation file, click the Options button in the window which leads to the following program window

  3. Click the Restore button to move the file out of quarantine to the system

  4. Now you can comfortably install the SyncRoid PC Client
